Qualys Security Conference 2017 finds Qualys rapidly advancing in its ongoing quest to seamlessly and transparently thread security into the fabric of IT environments, and to make it essential for digital transformation.

At QSC17, happening this week in Las Vegas, Qualys executives will share how the company’s growing catalog of security and compliance apps, powered by the highly scalable Qualys Cloud Platform, can yield substantial benefits and unique advantages to our customers and partners.

During two days packed with informative and insightful presentations, Qualys executives will outline how the company’s unified, simplified and true platform approach to prevention and response enables its customers to:

  • Move away from having 30-plus heterogeneous point solutions that don’t interoperate well and are expensive to maintain, and instead consolidate their security and compliance stack with our integrated, centrally-managed and self-updating cloud apps, obtaining significant cost savings and superior protection
  • Build in, not bolt on, security into their digital transformation initiatives, such as those involving cloud computing, IoT, mobility, big data, and artificial intelligence, and give IT and InfoSec teams instant, global visibility of IT assets everywhere — on premises, clouds and endpoints — thus ensuring better business outcomes
  • Provide the necessary apps for multiple InfoSec teams, including those in charge of protecting on-premises infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, endpoints, web apps and DevSecOps software pipelines, and those in charge of providing compliance assessments
  • Leverage the benefits of the Qualys Cloud Platform and its revolutionary cloud architecture, including continuous visibility via our scanners and Cloud Agent; storage and real-time analysis of IT, security and compliance data; a continually updated, “single pane of glass” view of their security and compliance posture; and dramatically lower TCO

“At the conference, we will discuss how we can regain the visibility to secure our digital assets, as there is no security without visibility. We will also discuss how, by embracing cloud-based security and compliance solutions, we can help our companies move into this new Digital Age,” Qualys Chairman and CEO Philippe Courtot says. “This is why our chosen conference theme this year is ‘From Securing our Networks to enabling the Digital Transformation of our Enterprises’. The moment is now and together we can make this a reality.”

Attendees will get detailed presentations and demos about Qualys products, including the new ones launched in the past year — such as Indication of Compromise (IOC), File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) and Security Configuration Assessment (SCA) — as well others that are about to ship, such as Container Security (CS) and Cloud Security Assessment (CSA).

There will also be keynotes by industry experts, panel discussions, and real-world case studies by Qualys customers and partners. We’ll also have plenty of opportunities for networking, and for exchanging tips and best practices, starting with the Welcome Reception on Tuesday at 6:30 pm at the Bellagio Hotel’s Hyde nightclub.

Agenda Overview

Wednesday Oct. 18

  • CEO Courtot will get the conference started on Wednesday morning with his opening keynote “From Securing our Networks to Enabling Digital Transformation of our Enterprises.” He’ll discuss how organizations can regain the visibility needed to secure their digital assets, and how, by embracing cloud-based security and compliance solutions, organizations can move quickly and securely into this new digital age.
  • Courtot will be followed by Qualys Chief Product Officer Sumedh Thakar, whose presentation “Our Journey into the Cloud” will focus on the Qualys Cloud Platform and architecture, and on its benefits. Thakar will also provide product updates and technology roadmaps, as well as demo our latest platform innovations.
  • Scott Crawford, Research Director at 451 Research, will be in charge of the afternoon keynote. In his talk “It’s Not Just One Revolution: Extending Security Throughout Digital Transformation,” he’ll explain how digital transformation has become a security challenge for many organizations, and how security analytics and automation can help organizations secure these cloud, SaaS, mobile, DevOps and IoT efforts.
  • At different points of the day, Qualys product experts will lead sessions focusing on global IT asset security, cloud environment security, web app security, digital certificate management, and continuous compliance, each highlighting relevant Qualys apps.
  • CPO Thakar will take the stage again for the day’s closing presentation, “Drastically Reducing Your IT Security Spend and Consolidating Your Stack.” He’ll summarize how the Qualys Cloud Platform helps organizations consolidate their security and compliance stack, and allows them to simplify security and compliance operations.

Thursday Oct. 19

  • Gartner VP and Distinguished Analyst Neil MacDonald will kick off the proceedings on Thursday with his keynote presentation “Adaptive Security that Moves at the Speed of Digital Business.” He’ll lay out an InfoSec approach that’s continuously adaptive, assessing risk and trust in real-time, so businesses can embrace the opportunities, and manage the risks, of digital transformation.
  • Following MacDonald’s keynote, partners LogRhythm, Ivanti, Brinqa and Bugcrowd will each hold individual sessions to discuss different aspects and uses of Qualys products and technology.
  • Qualys VP of Product Management Chris Carlson will host a panel with representatives from two customers — RX30 and ACI Worldwide — that use Qualys Cloud Agents for asset inventory, vulnerability management and policy compliance.
  • At a concurrent case study session, Chris Kennedy, Head of Enterprise Technology Security at Bridgewater Associates, will explain how the company leverages the Qualys API for a dashboard that improves risk-based prioritization, vulnerability and remediation activities while giving business tech owners a continuous view of the vulnerability posture of their assets.
  • After lunch, attendees will have options to sit in on various sessions dealing with container security and DevOps, Qualys APIs and integrations, and integration of Qualys Web Application Scanning with DevOps environments.
  • The closing keynote will be delivered by Jennifer S. Granick, Surveillance and Cybersecurity Counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Titled “American Spies, Modern Surveillance, Why You Should Care and What To Do About It,” her talk outlines opportunities for meaningful and necessary surveillance reform.

We’re also happy to report that we have more than 200 customers signed up for our free training sessions on Monday and Tuesday which offer a valuable education component to our event.
